I came across this in an old envelope today and was immediately transported back almost 40 years to when I was travelling on a coach with a crowd of pals from the North East to the NEC in Birmingham.
A few weeks before we'd all been on holiday near Frejus in France but tickets were impossible to get for that gig so it was something of a relief when a local record shop offered a ticket and travel package from our home town.
The lads were resplendent in tuxedos and bow ties, lasses in evening dresses and full make-up and much alcohol was consumed on the way to celebrate BF's birthday.
And what a show, from the shuffling, crab walk entrance to the whistling finale, a night I'll never forget.
