Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I don't recall anything.

I always approach publications like this with a degree of trepidation, given just about everyone's propensity for errors when it comes to all matters Roxy. But this guy certainly seems to have a pedigree, being an American academic. Has anyone taken the plunge with this (published August 2024)?

This seems to be a great series, and now Roxy, that´s good. I have seen there are many bands from the same generation treated. So far, I´ve got the one on Jethro Tull, which is fine. The author is an American; Jordan Blum, and a child of a Tull fan. I get back to this book very often. The chapters are dense with information, ´cause he has a way with words that maybe isn´t everyone´s cup of tea. However, there´s "every album, every song", which is a real treat. Fotunately he´s quite subjective, which only makes it more interesting. You can disagree, but also change your own view.

This seems to be a band that mirrored their times. The first three albums were bluesrock, then came heavyrock, and after that progrock, then glamrock with Warchild, the most "Roxylike" album.

In the 80s there were powerballads, synthrock, straight arena riffrock, and in the 90s back to basics with "Catfish Rising", then world music before cruise control and a lack of urgency took over.
