Lost TOTP performance of Street Life 22 Nov 1973

Hi,

The presumed lost performance of Street Life from Top of the Pops broadcast 22 Nov 1973 was shown at a recent event focusing on music on television. The event organisors obtained permission to broadcast the performance, so I assume Bryan is aware it exists.

Has anybody on the forum seen the clip since it resurfaced? Is J O'B aware fo it? It would be ideal for any 'Stranded' deluxe reissue.

As of yet No. The clip hasn't surfaced, I know someone who attended the event.... Kaleidoscope in Stourbridge and he did see the showing of 'Street Life' he said it is now up to the BBC to release it adding that could take ages or maybe never even happen. Let's hope they do the right thing and get it out there for us.

Regarding BF and the lads you would think that they would have a say in this kind of thing and maybe they do, but I don't have a clue on these things, maybe someone on here with more knowledge and expertise can help a little with that info.

I'm sure BF is standing, with his white tuxedo on. EJ is wearing jacket with tails, sitting at the piano and stands up at the end of the song....I think!

In my head I remember bf on the piano....but it was so long ago when I saw it, I'm beginning to think I conflated that performance with another, possibly the t-shirt HRAGF video.
Anyway, one day someone will hopefully report definitively...unless you already know perchance?

I'm certain BF was standing, the bit where he looked straight at the camera doing the finger clicks was spine-tingling!! 8-)

Ferry did hard rain on TOTP sat at the piano in white suit, but was stood up and wearing white tux for streetlife.

The chart topping performance for TOTP 22/11/73 (Gary Glitter's I Love You Love Me Love) has just been posted on youtube. The guy who posted it is looking into posting other performances (including Street Life) from this week's edition. Stay tuned!
