Bryan Ferry is always good. "Manifest" might be his most uneven work, but somehow it`s a bridge from the early material to the polished masterpieces "F+B" and especially "Avalon". It was also a difficult era - "Punk"! Ferry tried to do something that wasn`t quite his own - "Trash". Punk and what followed might have been good for some, but for talented, skillful musicians it was a plague.
I love the great seventies acts like Bryan, roxy, Bowie , bolan...K Crimson, Fripp & Eno...kraut rock like can and kraftwerk..even cockney rebel and loads more. But when punk happened, I loved that too. pistols were a revelation. Love siouxsie. But most from clash thru to Costello and beyond to new wave (joy division, yes please) still sounds great today. And they were all roxy fans big time. What a great decade for music.
