The continued absence of this has been lamented in a number of topics since the last posting here. Is there any official word on when this is likely to see the light of day? Is it going to scrape through as a 40th anniversary edition with a 2012 release date, or is it going to be 2013 with a hope that most people won't notice?

I heard a discussion on the radio that the sale of the record company has resulted in the brakes being put on things. There are a few artists in the same film, it would appear.

What would be nice is if there was some "official" word on where they are at with this. My fear has been that since the boxed set delay, the 40th anniversary album would always struggle to be released this year regardless of record company politics. If it ends up next year then what chance of 40th anniversary editions of for your pleasure, stranded and lest we forget, these foolish things?

I echo your concerns about the deluxe FYP & Stranded, but are we really expecting the same treatment for TFT? There are no known out-takes (or are there?), it wasn't toured (therefore no live audio or video footage) and there would be no composer royalties for BF...

I can't believe that he went into the studio, recorded 13 songs for These Foolish Things and released all 13. There must be some more that were recorded but didn't make the album. Surely ?

Apart from the EMI buy-out issues I can't help wondering if this may have been put on hold because Bryan wants "The Jazz Age" out now and doesn't want to be competing against himself for the contents of his audience's wallets pre-Christmas. The Peter Gabriel "So" 25th anniversary re-issue came out after 26 years so BF would not be alone in being late. Of course there is a knock-on effect with a delay if deluxe editions of "For Your Pleasure" and "Stranded" are also being planned (and I very much hope they are). It's Bryan's own fault for being so prolific in 1973 - not something we could say in the 80s and 90s - that it leads to a re-issue pile up in 2013.
