Yes, I will second that ! Love to see that come out on dvd. I think they record every show and film as well? Could be wrong there but it's high time they did something. I would like to see a tour but I feel as I am living in forlorn hope.

I am not sure if and when this will be released, I hae no inside info and wouldn't ask.

What I do know was that it was never a plan to film any of the shows for DVD until they did the first show and saw how visually striking the whole thing was. It was then they quickly decided to film Manchester.

We have to remember that Roxy Music have no record deal or contract for any 'new' product so at no more than a guess this may be why the footage has not been released.

The 2001 DVD was released 8 months after it was recorded. It is now 18 months since the Manchester 2011 show.

I have to admit that I personally have little idea of how the contractual situation works when it comes to DVDs. Artists surely aren't going to sign multi-release deals for DVD releases in the same way as they used to with record companies when signing for X number of albums. Ferry the solo artist is (presumably still) contracted to Virgin re sound recordings such as "Olympia" yet the DVD "Dylanesque - the London Sessions" came out via Eagle Rock. As they seem to specialise in rock/pop material, and specifically archive stuff such as the Stones' 1978 tour DVD, I would have thought they would be ideal candidates to release a DVD from the FYP 2011 tour. Can these things not be dealt with on a release-by-release basis?

Always assuming the band, and specifically their lead singer, want to release one. I fear that with this one once again the boat has not just been missed but is long gone. :(

I'm sure I read Phil saying in an interview that Roxy had a three album deal. It was I think the same interview when he said they had recorded 18 tracks for the new album.

"I only met Sid Vicious once. He liked Roxy but said that Bryan Ferry's a ...., at least I think that's what he said"

There certainly were press reports in 2007 of a 3-album deal but I assume that at some point all parties concerned shake hands and walk away, once it becomes patently obvious that no new studio album is going to materialise. That's unless a record company has forked out a substantial advance which they would like a return on please, thank you very much.

Thanks John. Presumably you would offer the same answer regarding a cd as well?

Regarding plans back in 2005/06 for a new Roxy album, I think it is clear that a basic deal was worked out for the album, but it is equally clear that nothing was to be released until the three primary members of "Roxy Inc." - that is PM, AM and BF - all agreed on the final content and mix of the album. That clearly never transpired, and it appears quite clear that BF was the person who balked at endorsing/approving an album release.

Everything seemed to be proceeding pretty well through the summer of 2006 (there was a recording session with Eno in January 2006) and then after the summer Roxy tour BF suddenly announced plans to record Dylanesque (released in March 2007). Since then, BF has found plenty of things to occupy his time rather than finish the Roxy album and there seems to be no indication this will change anytime soon.

I don't think there is much question but that the 2011 FYP tour was supposed to generate a live audio cd (akin to the live album released from the 2001 tour), but as the months slip by that seems ever more unlikely. It doesn't seem to me that PM, AM, BF have had much (any?) communication since the last Roxy gig in Australia (or was it NZ) back in March 2011. They certainly made no effort to collectively promote the Roxy Complete Boxset. Maybe it will be different with the deluxe version of the first album due sometime in the next millennium...

From what I recall, in 2001 we just had the live double cd and dvd, suggesting that it can be done.
