OK, OK, Erland!  If you post almost daily about the same subject it gets a bit wearing and the website might end up mistaking YOU for a spammer! I know from conversations with J.O'B just how difficult it can be to block junk messages. Given that he has a young family and a very full-time job, it must be a headache he could do without. Let's not lose sight of the fact that VRM is a loss making labour of love for J.O'B. |

Roxy, I've already voted several times. Give 'er! Smudge, I manage over 10 websites and most of those spammers that sign-up up here are from China. They are human and take the time to sign-up. I have most of that country blocked from viewing my sites. they get a 403 page - sometimes if you get a "403 "Forbidden: You don't have permission to access this server", that means your IP address has been blocked, purposely. Gets more complicated, that's generally it. I've managed a a forum and I can spot them easily, and would delete them immediately. For example, 'Tecoisle' is a spammer and is still here. It would me a few seconds to delete him. I've sent J.O'B emails on how to block IP addresses to forward to his web people. I'm an Internet Security & Privacy expert as well, (that's why I don't use google, very creepy, I use startpage). I asked 'masteradmin' (which isn't John) about this and to delete a spammer, and he didn't answer, plus, he disabled his PM so I cannot send him messages, so I think John should fire him promptly. So viva is an easy target, unless John assigns a new 'masteradmin'. Keep voting.

Truth be told, these kinds of awards aren't worth much more than the pixels they're written on. I think I'll wait until the Deluxe Edition of the First Roxy Album is nominated... |
