Hello fellow Roxy fans. As you'll see, I've promised not to post any more jokey messages about new Roxy or BF albums. As I said to our host, they were just intended to get people talking...........which they did! Since they were removed the chat has been flowing like mud! I was tempted to spring a tale of Bryan and the Great PT announcing a two man drum and harmonica tour, or Roxy touring without Bryan but with Eno, or an album of Roxy playing Slade songs but, well, I promised...........

Nice one, but please don't misunderstand me either. I am all for a bit of fun and a spoof. But most spoofs are done in a way that it is obvious they are a spoof. You should dread the spoof story I wrote years ago about Ferry doing a cover of the Monster Mash and the video being filmed on Loch Ness 7 miles from my home.

The thread I removed and rule I added was because what was written was being taken seriously here and quoted elsewhere as being completely true.

No news, no talk, simple as that.

I never play "the Roxy catalogue" these days. I might happen to play one of Bryan solo albums.

Maybe we should start the craziest spoofs thread. I will try and find that Monster Mash one and post it here.

I live in Inverness which is 7 miles from Loch Ness, home of the Loch Ness
Monster.

I was driving down by the banks of the Loch today and to my surprise I saw Bryan Ferry gliding along the silken waters of Loch Ness on a gondola. He was crooning away to a female a funky version of Bobby Picket & The Crypt Kickers 1973 classic, "The Monster Mash".

I spotted a camera crew on the shore and of course I had to stop and make enquires. It turns out that he is doing a duet. Bryan Ferry featuring Scary Spice. This was Bryan & Mel on location recording the video to his new double A-side single
The Monster Mash c/w Ghostdancing (The Simple Minds Song).

Bryan is seen wearing Antony Price yellow polka dot swimming trunks as he wrestles with Nessie, in a Tarzan/Crocidile type joust, to save his damsel in distress, Scary Spice. Just as it gets to the point when you think Nessie is going to get the better of our hero, Scary stands up in the Gondola and pouts one of her famous ferocious poses and scares the monster away.

The single is to be released on Bryan's own label OSFOP Records. The catalouge No is K1D 0N and is sure to be a worldwide smash due to the publicity that it will get because the real Nessie makes a rare cameo appearance. She hasn't been caught on film since 1968 and a spokesman for the Inverness Tourist Board says that this is going to bring a flood of tourists to the area this summer. A plaque is to be erected in Bryan's honour on the side of Urquart castle.

Bryan is to do a promotional tour for this single taking in Transylvania & The Egyptian Pyramids with his new manager Frank Stein and he is to be sponsored by Hammer House. He will be doing some live caberet at Bates Motel, & Amyttyville House and headlining the Elm Street festival this summer.

Regards

John O'Brien

When Bates Motel mentioned, I would bet it was mixed with Anthony Perkins, I mentioned him once and almost got away with it. Alan Price on the other hand..
