Not sure whether or not this is authentic, but a contact in the business has picked up a draft press release as follows:

Roxy Music announce a new album "You watch me walk away" to be released on 1 December. Track list as follows:

1. I believe I did
2. Last hurrah
3. A smile across the sea
4. Wherever we were
5. Pipes (instrumental)
6. King of the rumbling spires (Bolan, arranged Ferry)
7. Dance on the sand
8. Water of Tyne (trad, arranged Ferry)
9. My decline
10. Sad eyed lady of the lowlands (Dylan, arranged Ferry)

There is also supposed to be a smaller scale tour to promote the album, starting in Newcastle in early January.

All bollocks I would think.

I think you may find that half the lies you have been told are not true.

There's always something that arises and stirs the Roxy stew yet one more time. And JO'B's cryptic comment only adds fuel to the fire.

Who knows what's up if anything. What I liked about the "track listing" is its specificity with a Bolan track and a trad tune arranged by Ferry and a Dylan cover. If it is a hoax, at least it's a creative hoax! I also liked the song title "My Decline" - although somehow that seems to cut a little too close to the bone regarding Ferry and The Boys.

Alternatively, maybe this is the track listing for BF's jazz album.

Who knows what's up. But somehow I don't think this appeared totally out of nowhere, especially in light of JO'B's comment...

I think J. O'B's reply is just teasing, if it's all lies then half of them are lies, and so are the other half!

Creative? Correct. "My decline" is a quote from Sunset (a final track), "Watch me walk away" is from FYP (another final track, get the drift? It's the last track, final, end of, etc.).

Waters of Tyne was recently covered by professional Geordie Jimmy Nail and re-born Geordie Sting, it's theme is identical to Carrickfergus and one line contains "Ferry the Boatman."

And if BF did cover Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands (my favourite Dylan song when I was a kid) then this "album" would be about 3 hours long!!

@Purl : I`m speechless !!!!!! great ( half ) news ... here in Germany we are all waiting for that , since many endless years. B.F. said for some days " Roxy Music is dormant " , was it a veiled reference ?????

Unless the "lies" are Bryan saying that Roxy are dormant etc. He did talk about "experimental", "film sound tracks" and these track titles don't sound like typical love song fare. The site updates have been really few and far between recently so perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

when I heard and saw - again and again and again -Todd Terje and BF in the studio there was the point I think "oh whats that " ? the background sound reminds a little bit of the earlier Roxy sessions .... someone else thinking ?
