There was an interesting I hour programme last night on beeb 4 about his musical "journey". In it, he speaks fondly of his time with Roxy Music. Mr Hubbard echoes his sentiments. Couple of interesting pictures of him and Hubbard with the band, and others.

It is repeated Sunday night/Monday morning 1.30 am on the same channel. Well worth recording, not just from the Roxy point of view.
A hugely talented and likeable guy, is Paul.

Cheers.

Ageing Hipsters,
Gerry is correct. A great program and what a huge tallent Paul Carrack is!
Sometimes I can only scratch my head and wonder. Why is it that real quality like Paul has to be sought out whilst we are force fed mass produced bilge.
Anyway, I've bought his new album (he is brilliant) and I've booked tickets for his show so I at least will be a happy bunny.
Spread the word - Carrack's the new old kid on the block.
Regards,
Windswept

You make me think....

Watching x factor. Waiting for homeland on c4. Why am I doing it? Background viewing, laziness, watching for pratfalls?.. I dont know why...Mass produced bilge indeed. Even the camp hi jinx of Rylan doesn't compensate for the rest of the garbage. It makes me proud that the opening ceremony of the Olympics featured the Pistols, Clash, Prodigy, Bowie, Chemical Brothers etc. if that event could make me proud to be British with some really great music, this stuff is mainstream light entertainment which sadly corrodes too much. When I was in my teens and twenties there were quite a few programmes where I could watch great acts. Apart from jools, what do we have now? YouTube I guess.

End of mild rant :)

See on a Saturday night, i've reverted to "club classics" on "heart fm". Seven hours of bliss. Nothing to beat the dress sense and shampoo's and set's from of women of the 80's. Sheer bliss. Best example, alex o'neal, "criticize". Official vid on you tube. 8-)

I watched this on the catch up and he seems to be a really good guy. Couple of classic old Roxy Music stills used and Neil Hubbard spoke well of Paul. It is strange how the world of commercialism v musicianship works.

8-)

Ancient Hipsters & Ageing Dilettantes,
Good things do happen. I booked a couple of seats to see Paul next March and discovered that my local venue was well on the way to being sold out.
When I expressed surprise, the booking lady said; "Oh yea, we've 'ad 'I'm loads of times. Nobody knows who he is but he always sells like 'ot cakes".
Maybe the good guys do win, even in this 'X' factor age.
Regards,
Windswept.
