I shall be going to Montreux, it's a great venue with great accoustics.
Ticket prices are not cheap chf 240 (ukp 145) for seats and chf 90 (ukp 55) for standing.
But it's just a 1 hour drive for me from Geneva.
I can only recall Bryan playing there once before in 2004 or 2005, he cancelled a few concerts on the tour because of throat problems (Hampton Court being one of them), then appeared at Montreux as his 1st one after the cancelled concerts. Set was kept short to abt 1 hr 15 mins, but was still great.
He was originally supposed to perform there in 1999 doing his As Time Goes By songs, but he cancelled because he wasn't ready...he eventually did that tour at the end of 1999 and into 2000.
In 1999 he was replaced by Elvis Costello, who was outstanding.
Back in the 80's the Montreux Jazz festival used to be in the Casino de Montreux and I remember seeing Bryan there amongst others performing in what they called the Golden Rose, it was 1985 and he did Slave to Love and Don't Stop the Dance, maybe one more I can't remember now. It was playback, .....it was the dry period for touring, so there weren't many opportunities to see him live.
Anyway. I'll be there as well as Barcelona and Paris.

I will try going there, that Lake Geneva and the coastline is a spot of beauty and delight. Still, I have to break off a holiday to make it. I've heard artists that cannot embrace this Festival enough.. I like the mixture of the bands, and does have something for people who also enjoying Jazz and Experimental/World music. Anyone here been in Montreux before?

I am planning, for definate Barcelona, London and Ireland. Montreux and Finland are possibles too as I have never been in Finland or Switzerland.

I have been to Ireland 6 or 7 times all just to see Ferry or Roxy and just been there one night and away. This time I plan to do a bit of touring and go to the O'Brien ancestral home at Drumoland castle and visit a few other place over a 4-5 day holiday.

Have been to the Montreux Jazz festival many times in the last 25 years, seeing Eric Clapton, BB King, Elvis Costello, Jethro Tull, King Crimson and many many more.
Up until about 12 years ago it was held at the Casino (the place that caught fire at a Zappa concert and inspired Deep Purple to write Smoke on the Water). it move to it's present premises which has 2 halls, the Stravinsky Hall where Roxy will play and a smaller hall called the Miles Davis Hall.
Normally there are 3-5 artists appearing per evening, starting at 2000hrs and ending anytime btwn 0100-0300 hrs.
There are many stalls on the lake side selling food from all over the world, bars and other attractions including free live music.
It's a great venue.
