In the nicest way possible. Guy's. What more are you demanding in the way of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music? Reason's, why's and wherefore's? Discuss? |

Hi, I'm not demanding anything, or expecting much from Bryan/Roxy. Personally I think Bryan's best days are long behind him. Lyric wise, there really doesnt seem much left and he seems mostly to be reworking already half completed songs. The Jazz Age was an interesting interlude. As Bryan/Roxy have moved record companies, I guess we will have to wait and see when the deluxe version of the first album is released. I would imagine the record company will be busy promoting the blockbusters from their catalogue and will get round to releasing it sometime. They hold the finished product as far as I know, so no fault lies with Roxy regarding its delay. It will be interesting to see the make-up of the next 'official' Ferry album. I would guess at a mix between covers and originals. Maybe covering 'Move On Up' has influenced Bryan's direction there. I was wondering what tracks others would like to be played on the Jazz Age Tour. I would like to hear 'Fingerpoppin', maybe 'Roadrunner' plus another track not from Bryan/Ferry back catalogue like 'Knock on Wood', but certainly tracks that fully utilise the brass section of the band. |

Plenty of scope for brass if he played This is Tomorrow, ignored by him since 1977 for some reason. Funny How Time Slips Away is another that springs to mind. Great sax. And how about If It Takes All Night from Country Life. If they were to get an airing on November 12 it would make putting up with the jazz stuff almost bearable. |

In answer to Sadie's Boyfriend OP I agree with the view of not a lot. The man is 67. The other RM members not far behind. Since the ATGB gigs he has been on the road either with Roxy or solo almost every year, be it full tours or summer festivals. I don't really want him to release any more if it isn't up to standard. In the early naughties we were all very hopeful of a new Roxy album but we now know it ain't gonna happen. If I had a final wish it would be for one last Roxy show in Glasgow but I won't hold my breath. |

The addition of "The Price of Love" would make excellent use of the brass section! ![]() |

Roxyrama regularly close the show with Price of Love and it is an awesome end to the show. The groove from guitars has the crowd absolutely rocking. We have been opening with In Crowd recently and I've attached a fan clip below from a recent gig in Holmfirth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-8NYI_tM8A |

Not hoping for anything really - sadly I think their best days are behind them. A wish would be a new Roxy album but I don't believe there is any chance of that. They remain one of the best UK bands ever and we should enjoy their output from 71 to 82 (with the exception of F&B and side 2 of Manifesto) |
