"Synth Britannia".

Not for the first time of a Friday evening, Beeb 4 came up with another interesting music prog, this time on synth music from the late 70's and early 80's and how it evolved after punk with the likes of Depeche Mode, Human League, Ultravox and more and as expected, our idols get more than a mention. The follow up programme "Synth" at the BBC kicked off with "D.T.S" which was, by a distance, the oldest song in amongst the rest and is, I suppose, great testimony.

If our webmaster is around, also in the second show, a rare full clip of "Japan", Mr. Sylvian and his lot, (r.i. p. Mick Karn) with a beautiful rendition of "Ghosts". Forgot how good that track was although it is not lost on me how good Japan were as a band.
Really enjoyable programme.

Loved those women from the eighties with the big hair, highlights and all that. They don't make them like that anymore.
