Did anyone hear that show on Radio 4 on Monday with Alan Johnson, the ex Home Secretary, talking about being a failed rock star? It centred around him taking the single his band released in the late 60s (I think) to Phil Manzanera's studio and getting Phil to talk about the record and the business. Phil came over as a very intelligent and courteous guy. One thing he said made me smile, though. He said that festivals are HUGE now and people are prepared to pay an enormous amount to commune with others in that atmosphere etc. And I thought, yes Mr Manzanera, so it would be rude not to accept the said enormous amounts to perform there! Still, I'd do the same myself, given half a chance, I guess.

Yes I heard it, Phil came over really well, he is clearly very knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to seeing Roxy in February, first tour in 10 years and, who knows, may be their last!
