Right, here we go. Firstly, hope all around are well.

So, we have been blessed with 9 studio Roxy Music albums, and Viva! in that time.

Could we do a top twenty of Roxy's greatest tunes from all ten albums, including Viva!

The limit is 2 tracks per album.

Send them to the site here by 29th December and I will collate them and list it all on New Year's Day. The tracks and the albums from which they came. It will be our top 20!

Crayon at the ready!

Cher Sadie's Boyfriend,
Un très grand mercy for the intellectual challenge albeit, I make it 8 studio albums plus Viva (I wish it was 9 but let's treat singles differently and throw in 'The High Road to make it work). Also, I'm not sure that the great Zappa has understood that for the survey to be collated, the tracks have to be in order.
Anyway, without further ado, Windswept has exercised his little grey cels and the definitive selection is as follows:
1) Mother Of Pearl
2) A Song For Europe
3) 2HB
4) Casanova
5) Virginia Plain (single)
6) Do The Strand
7) Editions Of You
8) In Every Dream Home A Heartache (Viva)
9) Take A Chance With Me
10) Love Is The Drug
11) Both Ends Burning (Viva)
12) Avalon
13) Jealous Guy (single)
14) Trash
15) My Only Love
16) Manifesto
17) Sentimental Fool.
18) Out Of The Blue.
19) Re-Make/Re-Model
20) Running Wild.
Festive Regards,
Windswept

Jesmond - agreed about 'Manifesto' - was there a better opening to a gig either?

To get 20 we need more than 2 per album and / or non-album tracks. My list is therefore:

1. Editions Of You
2. Re-Make / Re-Model
3. Manifesto
4. Just Another High
5. Running Wild
6. Spin Me Round
7. A Really Good Time
8. Psalm
9. Virginia Plain
10. Do The Strand
11. If There Is Something
12. Out Of The Blue
13. End Of The Line
14. Sunset
15. Prairie Rose
16. Chance Meeting (Viva)
17. In Every Dreamhome A Heartache (Viva)
18. True To Life
19. Same Old Scene
20. The Space Between

Happy compiling and happy Christmas.

19) Avalon
20) Take A Chance With Me

Good to see so many votes for the wonderful "Manifesto". When picking this list I've gone for some of the hardly-ever-played-live tracks over the staple selections - so no Love Is The Drug or Do The Strand. Great as these are I've heard them plenty and would love to hear many of the forgotten tracks from the 1979-1982 3 albums played live. And it seems I'm still the only one who wants Bryan to play "All I Want Is You" again after almost 40 years!!!

Well said pianoman - it seems to me that this is an exercise in deciding favourite RM tracks regardless of how often they have or have not been played live or how obscure they might seem. Like me and I'm sure just about everyone else here, I'm sure you've found it incredibly difficult to choose. I already already regret some of my choices but were I to follow my heart I think I'd stick with them.
