Do you brick it at the thought of "The Bogus Man"? Scared stiff by Bryan's Jekyll and Hyde musings in "Still Falls the Rain"? What is Roxy's creepiest moment? For me, it's that smile at 3:37 into this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib4-Lyxxyw0

Honestly except for a couple of seconds I find the entire video creepy... P.S.: I'll probably get lynched for saying that here... Goodbye, beautiful world!

Mes Amis, Je trouve 'The Main Thing' video vraiment cool! How could you not like it? I think the dancers legs are completely genius not to mention they add more than a little frisson to the proceedings and the French fan, qui se brosser les dents, would make a great Roxologist! Party on - Roxology is a politically incorrect sport but is never vulgar. a bien tôt, Windswept

Maybe "creepy" isn't the best word, but BF is certainly, well, "unsettling" in this '73 video of Psalm. The close-ups are particularly weird given the make-up and lighting. Perhaps "ghoulish" is the word. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SN4aqXCE0YThis kind of song/performance may have found an accepting audience in Europe, but this type of performance/demeanor illustrates why BF never found a mainstream/mass fanbase in The States.

My take is that he's impersonating one of those manic television preachers, but who knows...

One of the youtube commentators describes the "Psalm" performance quite well: insensiblegradations wrote: Perfectly pitched on a knife-edge between irony and genuine sentiment...Those Roxy boys had it all.

I've never really liked the video for 'The Main Thing'. It wasn't a single in the UK and the video looks like it was cobbled together on a budget of about 5 francs to give it some visibility in Europe. I don't believe that all promo videos for singles on a particular album have to be the same genre or style but this one is so far removed from the class of 'More Than This' and 'Avalon' as to underline the belief it was simply knocked together. Makes me rather pleased it didn't really see the light of day in old Blighty.

I agree with you, Richard. I'd really like to know the story of how that video has come into existence. If it wasn't posted by EMI's official Roxy Music account on youtube I would severely doubt that it's an official promo video.
What the heck does that woman brushing her teeth have to do with anything? And why is somebody talking over the music?
