I don't play geetar, but I was told that most of the chords on Over You were naff :D

I do not believe there is such a thing as a naff chord. That's the sort of talk I'd expect to hear from a teenage heavy metal fan; the kind of person who thinks Yngwie Malmsteen is a good idea.

"Over You" has a simple, yet effective, D-G-A circular chord progression. It's a great pop tune.

Sorry I wasn't v clear....late night posting and way too cryptic when I posted. What I meant to say was when BF was seen miming the guitar in over you on top of the pops, he was playing naff ie misplaying, most of the chords. No comment on the quality of the music intended. Imnsho the chords on the track itself are simple, fun, effective and I like 'em

I thought we'd lost you there, RoxySiren. Thanks for the explanation.

My dear Peanut....surely you must have thought something was awry!?
The only thing I can recall bf doing that was potentially naff was the attire worn at the heart of the Trousergate scandal....and I think I've finally got over that now ;)

PS. As for other potential naffisodes, I can't think of many. I still don't even think the gaucho look was naff: it was inspiration to many New Romantics, and I'm not going to start slagging off those guys. One day that will all be back in fashion, big time.

I should never have doubted your impeccable taste, monsieur Siren. Please accept my sincere apologies.

The matter of naffness touched upon in this thread has inspired me to start another.
