Sorry, I doubt it.

Hi Stephen,

I apologise for my oafishness but I must confess I don't really understand this expression... is this another word for a fanfare? Or a reference to Bryan Ferry's son? Or the Buddhist meditation deity? The Druidic mother goddess? or...???

I believe that Tara in this context relates to the closing refrain in the song For Your Pleasure. This song was used to close all Roxy concerts in 2001 and 2003 and there were no encores following.

While it would be nice to think that PM, AM, and TGPT are getting together and working on something new. this strikes me as quite unlikely. But there is nothing to stop them from engaging in such activity so long as they do not project themselves as Roxy Music. Use of the Roxy Music name can only occur if BF, PM, and AM all agree.

Thanks, DCJ, that makes perfect sense... I must have been blocked - since I'm a Buddhist all I could think of was this:

LD & DCJ,

Tara (pronounced like the FYP fade-out, rather than the drummer's name) and tata are regional slang terms for goodbye or see you later in the UK... ;)

I was typing out a very similar answer to Smudge as he posted. Ta-ra means Goodbye: ‘I said ta-ra and left’.

8-)

Thank you, Smudge and Roxy! I had always wondered about the meaning of the "Tara" at the end of FYP.

But the tune Tara on the Avalon album refers to the Druidic goddess? Or is it also a goodbye? After all it's the last song on the album... (Sorry for the off-topic, but since we're at it...)
