... while watching Jeopardy last night (American game show where they give you the answer and you respond with a question) one of the categories was sax players. Answer was "Andy MacKay played sax for this band on Avalon." On another occasion a while back, a question relating to Bananarama was "Bananarama took it's name from the Banana Splits and this band's Pyjamarama."

Not particularly earth shattering but it was interesting to hear the band mentioned her in the US.

I can see some savvy young American hipster getting the Andy M and Avalon question (or answer) correct. Jeopardy likes to feature such contestants.

But I doubt that one in a thousand Americans would know the Pyjamarama/Roxy Music connection. Whew, that should have been (at the very least) a $2000 question/answer...

The fella who answered the Andy MacKay question was a middle aged bloke (like me!), the Pyjamarama question, as I remember, was missed. And the AM question was indeed a $2000 one!
