As Mr F will celebrate his 65th birthday on Sunday (just as I passed the 52nd milestone last Sunday!) let's spare a moment or two to congratulate a man whose appetite for creativity (and touring) appears undimmed 38 years on from when he donned that leopard-skin gilet for his debut album cover-shot. Isn't it about time his 4 decade contribution to British music was recognised by the cognoscenti who hand out the gongs...? I rather like the prospect of shouting for an encore at the SECC next January and seeing Sir Bryan (New Year's Honours) emerge from the wings.
