Noted ( from a picture ) that the reverse of the cover has "from the forthcoming super deluxe release of Roxy Music".

I don't have the 10" vinyl, but have I dreamt this? This long awaited release has been rumoured for a while , but a quick internet search yields nothing.

Avalon_Eyes, you might have missed it but it was mentioned in the original press release on the news page and also discussed here on the thread titled "Underneath the Archives". :)

Roxy Music will release a previously unreleased version of Ladytron as part of the Record Store Day series. This is a taster from a planned release of previously unreleased material from the Roxy Music vaults to be released later in the year as part of deluxe versions of the albums.

Three or four years ago the promise of a "super deluxe release" of the first Roxy album would have excited me. In fact it did. But this process has draggged out for so long that I don't really care that much anymore. When it finally shows up I'll pay attention and maybe buy it. Or maybe not and I'll await until someone posts the new stuff on Youtube and then give it a listen.

Yes, I am a jaded fan, Sigh.

God bless people like Helen who waited in the queue for 3 hours so she could buy the 10" of the extended Ladytron. But not me.

Hello you all,
Glad I did not had too wait in queue at my local store!
However, there were only two copies!
Happy to buy one of these.....
Now I would like to know if anyone have noticed this problem:
Putting the record on my old turntable the problem occurred that the hole in the middle of the label is too tight for the spindle!
Did not want to push the record down, as you can imagine what could happen if you want to have the record off the turntable...
So, anyone familiar with something like this and offering a solution?
Visually I inspected the record closely and it looks good; although it is also pressed at GZ...(I refer to the stories going around the quality of the recent boxset; also featured in the forum...) Cover is looking nice and at 10" it is just a nice gem to have in the collection...
I guess I'll have to wait to play unless I got a tip to solve the problem...
Thanks in advance!

S:
Try taking a plastic pen that fits into the hole and by moving it around and pushing at the edges of the hole you may be able to widen the hole enough so that it can slip over the spindle. I remember having doing this with records back when I bought vinyl.

Good luck!

Hmmm, can't remember I've ever had that problem. I think with any normal (=replacable) record I'd probably use the awl of my victorinox knife and very carefully scrape off some material until it fits. But with a collector's item like this... not sure... :?

In my experience you don't need to scrape to make the hole wider. Finding a pen or pencil that fits into the hole and then gently wiggling it back and forth should do the trick. At least that has worked for me...

Yes, I hadn't read your post when I wrote mine. Your method is probably a lot safer, DCJ.

No problem with my copy, Serenade, but I can confirm that DCJ's suggestion worked very successfully when I used the same method on my 45s many decades ago! :)

If there is anyone still looking for a copy of Ladytron I can recommend this online store who currently have it in stock.
