I've never quite understood the interest in tribute bands, when the original musicians are still active (albeit seldom together). I guess one man's (the pride and the) pain is another man's (for your) pleasure? ![]() For similar reasons I'd never bought any of the Roxy tribute CDs until very recently and I wasn't very impressed at all with the one pictured here. If anyone here thinks it might appeal more to him or her, it's available for a cheap sale or, better still, exchange (ideally for something Roxy-related).

Smudge, that is a bit of a strange CD, not entirely a "tribute". Around half of the tracks are actually the versions of RM/BF songs that used to appear on the old "Top of the Pops" LP's in the 70's with the artists given new names. The rest are just weird recordings! ![]() ![]() |

It's certainly a strange beastie, Roxy! One for completists only, I think... ![]() |

I bought this yonks ago and fell about laughing when I played it, to be fair, the Virginia Plain is vibrant and enjoyable, but the rest of it is like listening to drunks dressed in polyester doing Bryan impressions at a karaoke. Or listening to polyester while doing the hokey-cokey at a karaoke. |
