It's probably already mentioned many times in the forum but...
The MP3 from the November 1974 concert is unbelievable. Brilliant. Roxy in their prime. Each song's pace, instrumentation and delivery far surpasses ANY song rendition during the 2001 reunion tour.
Just listen to "Beauty Queen" alone. Awesome. And the version of "Three and Nine" is spectacular - I never knew it was ever played live - and it's better than the album version.

I couldn't agree more. Roxy Musique have two different "set ones" based on the first five albums and one of those sets is essentially the Newcastle 74 set. Because of constraints on time we just miss out Beauty Queen, Three and Nine and Do the Strand is shunted into set two.

This is brilliant Roxy, thanks for sharing it. Just makes you think how much better Viva! would have been if it had have been issued as a double album as initially planed.

It is a powerful recording. John W was/is an amazing bassist who locks in with TGPT and DRIVES the music with powerful propulsion.
I couple of quick comments: The ending of OOTB doesn't quite sound right. Something was off and perhaps this is why VIVA didn't use this version...
3 and 9 is really good, a sweet and mellow yet nonetheless forceful sound. But TGPT doesn't offer any of the drum fills that are featured on the studio recording. Strange...

That is fabulous , some of it so recognisable from Viva! Roxy Music which came out after Siren , of course. Maybe 18 months later. Interesting to hear Bryan talk more then between tracks.
