John, any idea when you may be posting the Graham Simpson interview?

I have not had time to transcribe the audio. There is a bout 3 hours worth that I will have to wade through and pick out what I need and arrange it in some sort of chronological order.

Graham was a charming guy but would veer off at times and made it difficult to interview in a chronological way.

One of the things I asked him was if he had ever signed a copy of the album because he was out of the band before they LPs were actually manufactured. He said he had never signed one and duly obliged my copy with a signature. It was nice to have the first ever Graham Simpson autograph on that album and now my mission is to get the other 5.

J.O'B.

Below is the agenda I put to the filmakers who asked me to do the interview.

In an interview my questions would be along the lines of:

• Ask Graham about his first musical influences and what sort of music he listened to in his teens and who inspired him to play bass then and who does he admire now.

• Would talk about when and how he first met Bryan Ferry (Newcastle University as far as I know)
• What music he played with Bryan in their band (The Gas Board)

• During these years did he sense that Bryan Ferry had something special that would make him the music legend he became.

• How did they meet again in London and start to form Roxy Music. Graham and Bryan were the first 2 members so he would have had an active role in audition every member of the band. I would discuss the audtions and meeting Eno, Andy, Paul and Phil for the first time.

• We would talk about that special bond between bass player and drummer and what it was like to work with Paul Thompson.

• What are his memories from developing the songs, the Peel sessions and the actual recording sessions. What song does he think he had the biggest influence on how it developed. What are his favourite tracks on the album.

• What are his memories of opening the gatefold sleeve for the first time and seeing his picture there.

• I would like Graham to discuss the events on leaving the band. Where did he go what did he do after that.

• Did he keep an eye on Roxy Music after that and if so what albums does he like.
• Has he ever seen them live since he played with him.
• What artists and music does he listen to now.
