Sal Maida, who played bass in both Roxy and Sparks (as well as in Milk 'n Cookies), has written his autobiography and a fine read it promises to be too. However, the stumbling block looked like being the transatlantic shipping cost. e.g. the publishers want an extra $23 to ship each copy of the $20 book to Europe!

The cheapest option might be bulk shipping and Sal is happy to send a box full to me by the cheapest method for onward delivery, once they've arrived in London. He's also happy to sign some or all of them on request. The final cost is hard to gauge (i.e. dependent on level of interest or demand), but it would be non profit making, of course. :)

So if anyone here would like to commit to buying a copy and paying $20 plus an equal share of shipping and import tax, plus any onward postage costs (for those of you who cannot collect in person from me or one of our mutual friends), I'll happily include you in the order being prepared. Early replies appreciated; thanks.

Sal tells me that Juno Records in London will offer a UK distribution of his book quite soon.

They had one copy this weekend (guess who bought it? ;) ) which was listed for £23.99, with free domestic postage.

The website is http://www.juno.co.uk.

If anyone wants to see if their local book stores can order it from Hozac in the USA, the ISBN number is 978-0-9963319-4-4.

What a great event, augmented by members of the Dream Syndicate among others. A short live set, and then followed with a Q and A before the book signing.

Will this be available to buy as a kindle download as I've finally got with the times and started downloading books instead of insisting on buying the hard copy?

Dream Syndicate (lead by Steve Wynn) was one of my favourite bands in the 80's. I have worked with Steve Wynn several times. In 1989 I released a very limited Dream Syndicate recording. In 1996 I made a Tv-concert-docu. In 1999 I made a multitrack recording of a concert, waiting to be included in a future box. + more which I can't remember right now.
Met him countless times.
So nice to see him perform with a Roxy member. Finally I have a "Roxy link" ;) , rather weak though.
