Great song. Great vibe. And a culmination of the darkness that has been building on For Your Pleasure @ https://roxymusicsongs.com November 2018!

I'm always so impressed with your essays. Interesting and essential reading. Great that someone is actually doing this with our favourite songs. Keep on keeping on! ![]() |

Excellent analysis. The aloneness and isolation themes would certainly carry over to Street Life. When I began experiencing The Bogus Man on repeat listens, I came away with the ideas that this was in effect a pop song (as in the Andy Warhol view of pop culture), and the bogus man himself was much like a Dick Tracy villain (especially with the underlying noiresque motif). Musically, it reminds me of a twisted take/hybrid of Those Were the Days by Mary Hopkin and Alabama Song (The Doors version)...although a much, much better version. Funky, futuristic, mind-expanding. One of their best moments of stretching out and intertwining musicianship. |

Hi Kevin Just read the grey lagoons article. Superb. I believe you've nailed it imho. It now makes complete sense to me. I always felt it was dark and subversive, never taking it on face value. Completely fits on fyp, indeed on side 2. Similar theme, as you note, to ITIS. Thanks! |
