I did notice some more prominent and clearer tambourine and percussion on Ladytron.

Yeah, it’s just subtle things like that, but the bigger picture is that the album sounds clearer and fuller than it ever has before.

A belated thank you to Peanut for the advice on contacting customer service about the free download. I've now had a new code to use so hopefully when I access it later it will be the correct set of files. Presumably anyone seeking to download for the first time will get to them straight away.

Yes, thank you peanut re the download.

I've listed once so far, and I recall the synths being more prominent at the intro to Ladytron (much like the RSD Ladytron mix), more prominent and spatially separated sound effects on the Bob Medley. Also, more of a separation between Andy's and Phil's riffing on a few tracks, and more clarity on the vocals in 2HB and Bitters End. There are more nuances I'm sure that will reveal upon repeat listens.

Have just listened to the Steven Wilson mix for the first time and have to say he has done a great job in bringing the album to life.

There are lots of subtle changes and improvements to my ears

* The whole thing sounds a bit punchier and there is greater separation between the instruments making them easier to pick out - particularly Graham Simpson's bass

* The interplay between Andy, Phil and Eno is clearer as is their individual parts.

* Little details reveal themselves throughout - there are lots to enjoy

* Great separation on Paul's drums as they are panned (eg RM/RM)

* Eno's synths come out more

* Andy's oboe on ITIS really shines as do the saxes on 2HB

I could go on but better to discover for yourself

In the meantime I have received my copy of the RSD album from the States. I had no problem with getting a wav download code after writing two e-mails.

The sound is brilliant although there are no major differences comparing it to the CD remaster from 1999. Ladytron is a few seconds longer, the electric piano in 2 H. B. sounds a little bit stronger, especially when listening to the intro.

Was it worth 40€ ? I am not into vinyl so the only benefit of this is the CD I have burnt from the downloaded file. Sometimes it's hard to be a completist  .
