I thought I would put this message here rather on a section further down that may get missed.

There are technical issues with the forum outwith my knowledge of web building etc (which is somewhere close to zero) that means the forum may stop working soon.

This version of the site was upgraded 11 years ago and technology has changed over this period to the point that a major re-vamp not just of what you see on the surface but more about the technicalities going on behind the scenes.

A major investment in time and resources are required to do the necessary upgrade and I am in the process of planning that now. In the meantime the site will work as normal for a while but the forum may stop working in the near future.. Please be patient if this happens as I will endeavour to have the upgrade done as soon as possible.

11 years is close to a lifetime in IT terms so the site and forum have proven to be well-built and robust. Thanks for all that you do John. :)

The previous version of the site started in October 2000 and opened in June 2021, the first article was on the night of the first Roxy show in 18 years in Dublin June 20001. I had to drive all the way to Dublin with my desktop in the boot of my car and connect it up to the phone line in the hotel.

Technology is such now that we can do it with something the size of a bar of chocolate that we keep in our pockets and update from the actual venue.

This site is my constant companion. I would be bereft where it to disappear.
Everything must change, however. How can we help?

I second every word of avalon_eyes' post. Thank you, John, for all you did to keep this site alive. I hope that this won't be the end of VivaRoxyMusic. Probably there wasn't a single day I did not look if there is a new post. Even the website design was absolutely ok for that purpose.

I hope that all members of the forum stay healthy and I am looking forward to new posts and threads in the future. My RAH CD hasn't arrived yet but I'm afraid it can take some more days due to Brexit. Greetings from Germany :)

I have a bit short of time lately due to family commitments and not been able to write much but I have still been reading and following the various threads which have been very interesting.

I can still remember as an internet novice sitting at my son's computer on the Saturday evening of 9th June when this new website was born waiting for the news to come in about the first night of the Roxy Music 2001 reunion tour and how it went and to see the set list appear, it was so exciting.

I understand all the hard work that goes into bringing all the news and information for this site which is very much appreciated and I give my thanks to John.

Viva!...Viva!RoxyMusic.com!!!
