Yet another Roxy book is scheduled for publication next spring:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/178 ... 1OLE&psc=1

Only 160 pages, so whether it's worth £15.99 and whether it might contain anything new...

.....and who is drummer Phil Thompson?

That may be an indication of the historical accuracy of the book.

The author has apparently written over 150 books (!) so I suspect he doesn't do a lot of original research when setting off on a new topic.

Sigh.

I suspect this will turn out to be a "clip job" in newspaper speak. He'll get a bunch of clips from what others have already written and string them together to tell a familiar story. I wonder if he'll make note of "pit ponies" in the history of BF's origins?

I’m over half way through this Decades edition from Dave Thompson and although I enjoy other views on Roxy this book leaves a lot to be desired.

He obviously knows his stuff but there is a definite feeling of a rushed project. Careless misspellings and probably worst of all so far is a description of the two co-writes on Stranded.

After discussing Andy’s contribution he claims that Phil must have written the first part of Mother of Pearl as his contribution to the credits on this LP. A simple check of the album sleeve would have told him which song was the actual Manzanera co-write, but maybe he just didn’t have the time!

A bit disappointing what with the other news that Jocelyn’s book has been delayed until August by the printing in China.
