We all know the story of why Lee Thompson wanted to play the sax (don't we?) and that Madness did a Roxy homage entitled 4BF, but I never realised just HOW important the Roxy influence was!
I'm halfway through Lee Thompson's autobiography 'Growing Out Of It', and BOY do Roxy Music and Andy MacKay get some mentions. Seems the whole band were at one time obsessed when teenagers in the 70s, to the point of copying haircuts, clothes and make up!!!
A very good read by the way, I would recommend
