Gary Tibbs hasn't hidden the fact that he's a bit miffed at not being asked to be part of the 50th reunion

I don't know who they've got lined up but they had numerous bass players over the years with Gary Tibbs playing on Manifesto and Flesh + Blood (which he also toured)
I would have thought that he'd have been a first choice as far as Roxy goes and I always thought he looked really cool and very much a Roxy band member when I first got into the band in 1979

So I might start a petition!

Bring back Gary, the winkle pickers & leather suits ;)

A very energetic bass player indeed, he takes part in the chorus too:

But he left RM to join Mr Ant and perhaps that didn't go down too well?

I think Neal Jason is most likely to play bass on the Roxy tour (he was quite good on the BF RAH 2020 cd) and if he’s not available then Guy Pratt will be next in line. GT is good bass player but he won’t be the first choice methinks…

That's a shame really!
I've got nothing against any of the bass players up for option but I was hoping for the nearest Roxy line up there could possibly be.

50 years of Roxy is not only a very special tour but probably the very last time playing as a full band.
I first saw GT on the Flesh + Blood tour as a young teen so for me it would be like coming full circle
I'd just love to see the closest thing to Roxy for one last time.

Other than a couple of gigs with The Metaphors, I don't think GT has had any involvement with Roxy or BF for 40 years, has he? If that's the case, I don't know why he would have had any expectations of being involved this year.

I don't think it's likely to be a nostalgia trip, otherwise Messrs Kenton, Porter or Maida might have been considered (Messrs Simpson, Wetton, Gustafson & Spenner having all joined the great gig in the sky...), although only Sal is still an active performer, as far as I know.

I agree that Neil Jason is the most likely choice, if he's well enough (I read somewhere that he'd been ill), especially as Guy Pratt will be preparing for Nick Mason's North American tour in September.

Bassists aside, it would be nice to think Eddie Jobson (now transplanted from LA to NYC) might be offered a guest spot on some of the US dates, but, sadly, I'm not sure that the Hall Of Fame induction rebuilt too many bridges... :(

Chers amis!

I admire your interest when it comes to the bass player. Guy Pratt would probably be my choice.
For me, the most important thing is that Jorja Chalmers and Colin Good are onboard. And I would prefer Marina Moore to any violinists of the past.
Now I´m waiting on the third pearl of "Love letters".

Salutations à tous!

I too think Neil Jason will be the BF Bass of choice. He will need less rehearsal than other historical (hysterical?) Roxy bassists. That is if he is fully recovered from his hospitalisation with Covid some months back.
I'm not sure if Guy Pratt is out of the doghouse with Mr F yet after his and Leo Abrahams 'rock'n'roll' incident?
I imagine the core will be Andy, Phil, Paul and Bryan, with all other players taken from BF's touring bands past and present. Jorja and Tom Vanstiphout have ruled themselves in and Speddo has thus far ruled himself out.
Bring back Lucy, I say!!
And Mr Tibbs would be a very welcome guest on Manifesto.

Yes it would be good to see Lucy W. back , but why is Spedding a No-Go? Other gigs at same time?
