The singer Bryan Ferry previously lost his job as an art teacher because he allegedly always sang in class. He went to an audition for the band King Crimson. King Crimson's Robert Fripp immediately recognized that Bryan Ferry wasn't right for King Crimson, but at the same time was totally smitten with him. Robert Fripp advised Bryan Ferry to form his own band. Which he then did with Andy Mackay and Brian Eno. In this case, Robert Fripp promised to support Bryan Ferry's band with his record company.
