Wa it really steps in between the pyramids for the Manifesto Tour. I thought it looked like a painting on a board to look like steps. They used that big fan/tunnel thing for the European leg of the Avalon Tour in 1982, but used the blinds for the USA/Canada leg of the Avalon Tour in 1983.

You're right Ian, it was a trick of the eye that worked and made them look like steps, I was just hoping he would appear at the top!

The Flesh and blood tour was definately the venetian blinds . The blinds closed over the whole stage - the bogus man - lit from behind - then they opened and were raised up one by one . Avalon was a circular fan type structure which opened behind the singers.

1983 is the date given for this photo but the clothes look more like the Avalon tour but the blinds are in the background, maybe it's not a UK venue?

They used the blinds on the USA leg of the Avalon tour in 1983.

The photo of the Manifesto gig took me back through a great whirl of dusty memories ... That was a wonderful show. I still have a leather tie just like Bryan's. I believe Otis now has that red suit!

His entrances are more subdued now. I remember a harp solo opening the Frantic tour. By the time The Great Man hit the stage the crowd were all chatting !
The Mamouna tour opened with I Put a Spell on you and the first 2 or 3 rows getting showered in glitter !
Does anyone know anything about 1982s crab walk ? Is it a dance move ? Where did it originate from ? I've never seen it before ....or since !!

Does anyone have a pic of the Stranded tour stage set that included Myan type ruins and a jungle setting adorned with models?

I have a few pictures of the band on stage during the Stranded tour but they don't show the set :(

Edit: I found this one in a magazine article and it sounds like what you describe but looks like it may be on a TV show, everything on the set is very close together.
