In 2007 Bryan said: "I can see some Roxy recordings in 2008". Does anybody know if this happened at all?

I know it might sound a bit pompous, still I would like, if they ever make a new album to be titled "English Diamonds", with the Eno ironic alternative reading anagram ( Angels and Demons) beyond. 8-)

Well, just having some fun with my head...

Today the new Roxy album seems farther away than ever. We`ve had reports of Bryan`s manic behavior in the studio, jumping up and down, recording Roxy covers, and finally ending in Leo`s blog. Somewhere along the way, maybe early in 2008, Bryan`s intentions of doing something Roxy must have flip-flapped, and resulted in doing a new solo album instead. This all strenghtens our impression of Bryan as an unreliable, quite irritating person that easily gets distracted, and goes with whatever the moment offers. And why don`t The States seem to "get" him? -Because he doesn`t do radio rock in the style of Sammy Hagar or whatever is their names are. Therefore he never gets played on the radio over there.

I have seen that Roxy will play some dates this summer. Nice surprise! So I have a dream ;) Why not a double cd from this tour...including 8 new songs from Roxy??
It seems impossible to me that theses songs stay in the shadow, so this would be a good opportunity if the band doesn't want to do a new album. Sorry for my English

simple economics from BF's perspective IMHO:

album sales are no longer an earner. may as well get all the share of earnings rather than a split share.

but touring is different. roxy will sell much bigger than BF; tours are where the dosh is.

max cost:benefit ratio (a function of volume times share of proceeds) = album as bry, tour big venues as roxy, occasional small gigs as Bry (eg KOKO)

may leave a sour taste, but i won't judge him for it

I don`t quite get it. Would the other Roxys allow Bry to mess with their new songs? Those songs would loose a lot of their appeal if transformed to Bry songs.

I don't really think that Ferry will be using any of the Roxy tracks on his new album. My guess is that the tracks on the album will be possibly some new ones and some that he's had "turned to the wall" (ie the alphaville tracks that have sort of leaked out). I think the time and effort put into the Roxy tracks and the involvement of someone like Chris Thomas means that they will see the light of day in the neat 18 months or so and I can't see these summer Roxy dates happening if he was to pull a stunt like that in any case
