Thanks for posting this HHMM. It maybe lacks a bit of depth but the reviewer has captured the spirit of the tour well and he has a healthy respect for the band's achievements and heritage - as well as a very positive appreciation of Roxy's performance on the night. Also, his description of the three competing audience "factions" at the gigs is spot on! What he doesn't address is the split between these 3 groups. In the past, the clear majority has always been the hardcore "been there since the early days" crowd. Maybe I am wrong but at the Glasgow gig(s) at least, I felt that the balance had swung and that we were in the minority. As the West of Scotland has always been a Roxy hotbed then this was hard to take. It would be interesting to hear from others on what the audience mix has been like elsewhere on the tour - both in UK and Down Under. |
