Apologies if this is common knowledge, but Roxy are supporting UK Record Store Day by reissuing Virginia Plain & Pyjamarama together (much as they did in 1977), but as a limited edition 45 rpm vinyl single.

I spoke with one of the independent London stores who confirmed that pressings are usually limited to no more than 500 and that even the bigger participating stores wouldn't expect more than 10 or 20 copies of any item.

It's unclear whether it'll have a picture sleeve (my guess is Kari-Ann again, as in 1977), but it'll presumably have a new catalogue number to reflect its collectable status. It should retail at around £5.

It's on the HMV website, but they won't be able to supply it, according to my indie shop advisor, as they don't support Record Store Day.

More details at www.recordstoreday.co.uk. If anyone's desperate for a copy and can't get to a participating store, I'm happy to try in London on their behalf (cost price of record plus postage/shipping only).

This broke a couple of weeks ago, but I don't think it's been mentioned here, so it's all good.

Kari-Ann is, indeed, the cover star (scroll down approx. 60%):

A shop quite close to me in Belgium is participating too.
We have some exclusive releases from Belgian Artists. I asked to look for the roxy single, but the owner said he wasn't sure If he would be able to get one. Because after, this is Belgium and not usa or uk.

So I'll wait on what he says...If he can't I might ask some help over here.

I've buying all the olympia singles on the vinyl site as well...so I would love to have that one.

Meh. I had to work today. As I passed my local indepedent record store, at 7:30am, the queue was already around the block. By the time I could get down there, around 12:30pm, all the 7" singles I wanted, including the Roxy one, had sold out.

Any lucky punters amongst us?

No luck round my way :(

The store taking part only had two copies of Roxy available and they had a ballot amongst the people in the Q early on in the morning.

Several copies up for sale already on eBay, top price so far £14.90...more profiteering at the expense of genuine fans.

got one at the belgium shop...though I ordered in advance. Because most international releases wouldn't be available like that.

So you had to order in advance and then pick up. Even some higly anticipated Belgian releases didn't come in that shop.

I'm happy... :D
Nice artwork.
on both sides (so both ladies), with a circle cut out, and then on the record the rest of the artwork is printed.

You couldn't be pre-order here, had to turn up on the day to buy on a "first come, first served" basis.

I also managed to buy a copy, after 3 hours of queuing up mind, for some reason I wasn't even expecting a queue  shows how little I know!

Piccadilly Records? I probably walked right past you on my way to the office.

Happy to hear a couple of copies ended up in the hands of fellow VRM members.
