I think Roxy are dead and buried. But, to be fair we've still had a lot of Bryan or Roxy stuff since 1999..ATGB in 1999, a tour in 1999, followed by a tour in 2000, followed by the Roxy reunion tour in 2001, followed by the live DVD and CD, followed by Frantic in 2002 and a tour in 2002 and 2003, a Roxy mini festival tour in 2005, Dylanesque in 2007 followed by a tour, Olympia in 2010 followed by a Roxy Tour in 2011 and a Bryan Tour in 2011 . Musikladen 1973-74 was released somewhere in there and we also had the Roxy Thrill of it all 2 DVD box set ! 18 goodies in about 12 years ! And that's all I can remember ! There may be more !By my calculations, Bryan's done 9 tours or mini-tours since 1999. That's pretty good for anyone !

To me, Bryan is not Roxy and will never be!
His last album was a disaster...

jeanjean,
OK I can understand that Roxy are dead for you, 27 years without new stuff to offer ,no new records is a huge load to carry on,but if we talk ,for example, about led zeppelin, pink floyd, the who...to say only a few,( for me in the same status of Roxy), Roxy have done, by far, much more in 20 years than any contemporary band, you can count the gigs and that is a big score for anyone.
For me Roxy Music are live.
Viva Roxy!!

With no more than an educated guess I feel we have seen Roxy Music perform for the last time and that the 9th Roxy Music album sessions will never become what they were intended to be.

If you go to the chronology on the main menu and start at September 1999 and work yourway through month by month you will see how much has been released and how many tours since then.

2009 was the only year Bryan Ferry has not performed a live public show since 1999. When he had the voce problem in 2004 I had counted the amount of shows he had done in a 6 year period 1999-2004 and he had performed more shows reviving his career then than he did building his career 1972-1977

1999 As Time Goes
2000 As Time Goes
2001 Roxy Music
2002 Frantic
2003 Frantic
2003 Roxy Music
2004 Ferry Solo shows
2005 Roxy Music
2006 Roxy Music
2007 Dylanesque
2008 Dylanesque
2010 Roxy Music
2011 Roxy Music
2011 Olympia

Just be realistic and positive . Bryan didn't seem happy on stage at all during the Roxy Tour earlier this year. He seems a lot happier on his solo tour. Roxy have gone the same way as Led Zep, The Beatles, The Who, The Faces, etc. Nad it may be for the best The expectations would be too great.

Oscar, when I say Roxy are dead, I only speak about the future, and of course, you are right when you say that Roxy have done, by far, much more in 20 years than any contemporary band, I agree with that, of course!
Ian S, perhap's Bryan is happier on stage when he is not with Roxy, but don't forget that he is obliged to perform festivals to play in front of a crowd. If not, I am not sure this tour would be a succes, I am sure of the contrary, actually. Hi last album is a commercial disaster.
In fact, Roxy have made much more for Bryan than Bryan for Roxy!
