Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, my name is Frank, and I live in California. I have loved roxy music for 35 years, and just recently I heard Do the Strand, and it reminded me of my obsession with RM decades ago. I've been doing research, and watching stuff on youtube, etc, to bring back memories. My question and topic is: Can anybody tell me the meaning of Strictly Confidential? This haunting song has always intrigued me, but even with the lyrics, I cannot make complete sense of it. Thank you.

great song. i too would love to understand it. i do, however, think it links up with For Your Pleasure, insofar as:
midnight blue tonality
guilt
moments before descent to hell (FYP is so Heaven Can Wait. Love it)

Trivia PS: It's Dame Judy Dench who says "You don't ask why" at the close of FYP

Hi Frank,
Strictly Confidential is concerned with the contents of a suicide note and the despair of its author as his demise approaches.
Cheers!

Thanks Firefighter. That makes sense, perhaps I was over complicating things. What about "If there is something"? I have always felt it's about returning to the innocence and happiness of childhood. Any thoughts?

thanks

Hi Frank,
ITIS - A reminiscence of lost youth and lost love, the three distinct sections reflecting the differing emotions felt when looking back at what might have been.
