How will mainstream rock music change this decade? It seems like the mainstream focus of rock changes every ten years. The 60's had British Invasion/Classic Rock, the 70's had Late Classic rock/ Arena Rock, The 80's punk and metal, the 90's grunge/alternative, and the 00's " Post Grunge", or whatever you want to call it. How about Post Post Classic Grunge/Punk? Or maybe Post Trance Ambient Folk Dancebeat Or maybe New Grunge Disco Wave Dubstep? Or maybe New Social Media Mush. Hmmm. Hard to tell at this point. Whatever it turns out to be there will probably be a lot of pretenders to the throne. And maybe someday they'll all get a bunch of DJs to crank out a tsunami of remixes that will enthrall dozens, maybe scores, of fans. I can't wait!!!! |
