Received my book from Sainsbury's on Sat (under 72 hours after placing the order) and very well packaged too. No tax payable on receipt either. :D

Went into HMV's flagship store in London's Oxford Street and their computer records still suggest that the high street price for the Roxy box will be £78! :o

That price compares with £52-£54 from their own online/offshore outlet and Amazon, while Sainsbury's was still offering it for £45 the last time I looked. If that remains the same, the supermarket will get my order.

Smudge,

WOW! just did a currency conversion. You stated price will be - £78 which = $123.43 CAD (Canadian), but Amazon.ca's price will be only 79.75 CAD which = £50.37

Hmmm......SOLD!

Not as far as I know, Wockawocka. Think I heard somewhere that all 8 CD sleeves would be gatefolds, whereas this was true of only the first 3 LPs.

Debut album, FYP & Stranded will therefore presumably be mini-copies of the originals; the other five may have repros of the printed LP inner sleeves (e.g. song lyrics etc.) on the inside of the CD gatefolds perhaps.

I think Siren was the only LP with neither a gatefold sleeve, nor a printed inner sleeve; what they'll put on the inside of that one is anyone's guess!

P.S. for Erland: there is a Wikipedia page for gatefold sleeve!

The original French pressing of Country Life was gatefold but only in a limited edition.

It was decided early on with this box set that all the sleeves would be unique to this box set and not just a box to contain discs/sleeves that already exist.

There is a team of people involved in all these things, a 3 way thing. Bryan with his management, Virgin EMI and I have been invloved from a fans perspective. The eventual outcome is usually a compromise of all 3 parties involved. The gatefold thing was decided early on at a meeting but I am not sure who suggested it.

Do you think it is a good idea to have these particular discs and sleeves different from what you can buy as individual albums in the shops now?

Thanks John as always - I presume Phil and Andy had input???????

And yes I think its good to have sleeves different to what was released - we are now in the digital age

Looks a really good package

But what happened to the hi-rez DVDs?

Can we expect some in future?
