The dj talking to Phil recently on the BBC radio interview said it was 23rd July.

It's listed here.......

Open in new window or it won't work

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Studio ... 75&sr=8-44
on Amazon for order prior to release at £67.28

It says it was due out in April and there is a bit of a break down of what you are getting for your hard earned.

Just seen this at HMV.com with a price tag of £78 and a release date of 6/8/12. Having then come here I see John's update but am totally disappointed to see the (external) packaging for this - another complete re-hash of a previous product - specifically 'Roxy Music - The First Seven Albums'. Is no-one capable of original thought any more? :(

I see the make up of this box set appears to have changed quite a lot since the press release as well. Gone it seems is the 8CD +4DVD format, replaced by 10 CDs. Maybe I'm missing something but I didn't actually see the point of the previous release details - putting everything out on 8 CDs and then much the same over 4DVDs.

I have to take the blame for that  , it was my suggestion as I thought the First Seven Albums box set was released a year too early and would have been The Complete Roxy Music if released post Avalon.

I suggested this at a meeting in Studio One and no one knew what the First Seven Album box was, so I had to send my box down when I went home.

What? no way John! I can't believe you decided to choose a dull, unimaginitive, drab almost 30 year old cover for this release.
It would have been an ideal opportunity to make a collage of some of the great album cover outtakes or unseen through the years, various Roxy personnel line-ups.
Surely the most arty and photogenic of bands deserve better than this?
Why is it the designers of RM/BF tour t-shirts, programmes, album releases etc. always get it wrong? Another balls up.

I think the understated elegance is suitable so that it doesn't compete with the beauty of the album covers. I'm also glad that the "bonus" material has been segregated to separate discs and not attached to the proper albums (as I believe they were in the first incarnation).

My question for John is whether there are plans for deluxe reissues of each album, or will future prospects largely depend on the commercial success of "Roxy Music" this coming fall?
