What recent music is everybody listening to? (I mean "recent" in the Roxy sense, so anything from the last 10 years fits the bill).

Guilty pleasure is Scissor Sisters. Cracking show at SECC in December. Sums me up when I had hardly heard of anyone who was up for The Brits last week!!!!!

On the basis of "Anything in the last 10 years" I might get away with including oldies like Springsteen's "The Rising" (2002) his best album since "The River" in my opinion, or Dylan's "Modern Times" (2006) or even Leonard Cohen's "Live in London" (2009) recorded a day or so after I saw the great man at Edinburgh Castle and still as good an introduction to the world of Cohen as I can think of, but I suspect the question should refer to more "modern" acts. In which case The Killers' "Sam's Town" is rather splendid as is singer Brandon Flowers' solo album "Flamingo"- go for the deluxe edition, it's worth it for the extra tracks. Green Day's "American Idiot" album is good if you like post punk acts. The Gaslight Anthem is an act that has been picking up praise in some quarters- their latest album "American Slang" was highly praised in the press, but I find that album a bit one dimensional and prefer their earlier effort "The '59 sound". And I've only recently (and somewhat belatedly) discovered Muse- their album "The Resistance" is the first of theirs I've bought, but I don't think it will be the last.
