For all fellow VRM fans: Bryan Ferry, Robert Palmer, Rod Stewart or Robbie Williams - they all recorded albums consisting of songs from The Great American Songbook. The latest one is singer/songwriter hero James Taylor: 'American Standard' is out today and this kind of music is a perfect fit for his voice and style. This is a personal recommendation from

- pianoman 8-) -

It's a very imaginative selection of classics pianoman and the voice - it hasn't diminished one iota has it? Great recommendation, thanks.

Thanks for your post, UKRichard. Absolutely true: You will recognize James Taylor's voice (and his guitar style) after a few seconds. I saw his show in Munich 2012 (Steve Gadd on drums !!) - James is such a nice guy and at the end of an exhausting concert he stayed with the public to talk to his fans. Otherwise I only know that from jazz musicians who play in small clubs ...
