Post subject:  Chris Spedding on CD

Over the course of 37 years I've heard and bought most of the solo projects by Andy & Phil, plus some Eddie Jobson and a good proportion of Eno's non-ambient output. I'd never tried Chris Spedding's solo stuff, though; just wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

Recently picked up a used copy of his Motor Bikin' CD, a live trio (just guitar/vocal, bass & drums) set from Bremen in 1991; not bad, but not sure if I'll keep it (e-mail me off-line if it would potentially plug a gap in your own collection). If anyone else here has this CD, perhaps they could answer a query for me? The rear insert (underneath the clear tray) bears Chris' signature; I'm guessing this is a facsimile which appears on all copies, rather than a genuine autograph? Thanks.

I'm a pretty big Spedding fan, and have seen him not only with Roxy, but with Robert Gordon, John Cale, solo, and with the Necessaries several times in and around New York.

His best record by far is "Hurt", though Guitar Graffiti and Chris Spedding have their good moments. my favorite of his records is Enemy Within-it has a rockabilly feel and some pretty strong song writing, but perhaps not for everyone's taste. A pretty typical spedding moment (and one I love)
