http://www.vivaroxymusic.com/musicians_249.php I met him when he played bass with Sam Brown at a gig that he did here in Inverness around 1992/3 He was very accommodating and we spoke about his sessions on The Bride Stripped Bare, a lovely man. http://www.vivaroxymusic.com/musicians_249.php J.O'B. |

Thanks for replying John. The last time I saw Herbie Flowers playing live was back in 2008 at a gig in Shoreham. He was part of a three piece band supporting my friend Gordon Giltrap. During his set he played the tuba, double bass and electric bass. He also told some great stories between songs, but unfortunately I never got to speak to him after the gig. My first memory was of him playing with Marc Bolan on a TV show. And then of course there were the rumours of him joining Roxy prior to Manifesto. The story was that he declined, but pointed them in the direction of Gary Tibbs. How true who knows? |
