In the BBC6 interview today, Mark Radcliffe asked about the "old photograph on the cover which appears to be about 25 years old?" Bryan replied, "and more.......It's an old picture, we thought it caught the some of the mood of the record, a kind of reflective sort of thing".

Well, that was my guess when I first saw it. -Kind of a milestone album or something.

Ahh... So that's it!! - capturing the reflective mood of the album ... Probably because there are NO other more recent ( within the last forty years ) pictures of him in a reflective mood ...
