I keep telling myself not to read anymore BF interviews because they so often prove to be frustratingly repetitive and just keep trawling through the same-old-same-old.

But I read the Times interview nonetheless, and what was I offered this time around. Yep, the same-old-same-old. Whew. Otis and fox-hunting! Stop the presses! Who knew?

The only thing remotely interesting was the fact that the article was intended to promote his solo album Avonmore, but almost everything is about Roxy Music or about his personal life and political leanings. However, his post-Lucy personal life over the past ten years is unremarked upon so presumably he was happy about that. Or maybe that part of the interview ended up on the cutting room floor.

Whatever.... I vow to never again read a...

Agreed. But do we care? It's not bf's fault that he has to field dumb questions (& I know you aren't inferring such). Let's just rejoice in a great (IMO) new album. And FWIW I think the album is a "new" album, despite some songs' genesis being ancient. For all we know, the first inkling of Pearl was when BF was 15...;-)

I agree with the previous comments. I don't understand why as a journalist you wouldn't try to be the one to ask some original questions that have not been asked before instead of the same old questions which in turn produce the same old answers.

I have 3 or 4 articles which have used that photograph with the Sirens.

8-)

I agree, most journalists ask the same questions over and over again. But let's not forget that last year a journalist from The Times Magazine has tried to ask some new and provocative questions and the interview has gone terribly south.
