At last week's Amsterdam gig I was reminded during Don't Think Twice It's Alright just how effective the mature BF voice can still be, when presented with the right material.
If we're not going to get a full Unplugged CD (and I still dearly hope that we might...), then how about an EP or mini-album of 4-6 songs of stripped back BF, e.g. just vocal/harmonica with piano and/or guitar?
Material could include unreleased Dylanesque or other demos; or it could be recorded live, either at a show or in the studio, but with no subsequent tweaking (it needs to be left raw).
No expensive packaging; a mini-LP card sleeve like the ones in the Avonmore vinyl package would suffice. And no agonising over a fancy title, as it would become popularly known by the fans simply as The Acoustic Session or The Blues EP.
But it needs to ride the wave of enthusiasm created by Avonmore; one for the merchandise stands at the spring 2015 shows perhaps?
Maybe even sell it exclusively at gigs (those of us attending would happily buy extra copies to send to our less fortunate friends who can't get to the live shows) and keep the price sweet, e.g. around a fiver.
Do you think we could make this happen?
