Elegantly Ageing Hipsters, W2 has been frantically praying to ‘The Penshaw Gods’ for news of fandangos next year but with many acts having declared, Windswept is starting to feel studiously ignored. Nonetheless he will continue prayers and hopes for an LP of covers in the vein of ‘Love Letters’ with an associated tour or residency. In the interim here’s wishing our hero and all the ghosts who haunt this hallowed cyber hall - meme les gens de South Hylton Club - a fabulous Christmas and a happy new year ! Salutations a tous, Windswept

Salutations a tous, Windswept A Love Letters LP would be welcome - as I still hope for FYP Deluxe. Despite Horoscope and AM/PM 2023 was a very quiet year for Roxy fans. Let's hope for 2024! A very Ferry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody here and: I wish to thank John who is still running this website although there were only a few news and several posting-less periods.

Hear, hear W2 and Pianoman. I hope 2024 is a good year as far as BF and Roxy are concerned. A full decade on from his last truly 'new' album, it would be great to finally hear what BF has been cooking up in Studio One. And, as with the '45th' anniversary edition of the debut album, I don't think any of us would be numerically pedantic if the '50th' anniversary edition of FYP finally saw the light of day. Merry Christmas and, again, thanks John for hosting us.

Cher W2, Voilà mes Ferry wishes for the coming year:
A "Love letters" album.
A short European summer tour, in cities like Prague, Bratislava, Vienna and Krakow.
About Mamouna: A great cover, really deluxe. The music have I praised many times before.

Just over three weeks until 2024's nights start drawing in - here in the northern hemisphere, anyway. If only that gloomy prospect, augmented by our appalling weather - was lightened by some news from the Roxy/BF camp but alas, the silence is deafening.
I was reminded of this by a social media post promoting the new Pet Shop Boys album:
"Pet Shop Boys' first new studio album in four years. Their brand new album, "Nonetheless", produced by James Ford and released worldwide by Parlophone, out now."
Apparently a first studio album in four years is quite newsworthy in some circles. I wonder what hysteria would greet a first studio album in 10 years (some artistic license there in conveniently/legitimately overlooking Bitter-Sweet)? Will we find out or will the count grind relentlessly forwards?

Three live albums, a digital-only EP, a book of lyrics, a minor hit re-issued on translucent blue vinyl , plus 13 original albums and a Greatest Hits remastered , a yellow ‘Taxi’, and ‘Horoscope’. What more could we want? Ps. Not forgetting the ‘Roxy Music’ 45+ anniversary. Have I missed anything.? A red ‘Stranded’, a blue ‘These Foolish Things’.

"Have I missed anything?"
Errm, yes. Firstly, this topic is entirely about hopes for 2024, so I can't see the relevance of citing all the reissues from previous years. Secondly, the substance of my post is contained in the phrase "first new studio album". Absolutely nothing mentioned in that response has any bearing on that whatsoever.

Indeed, my point was that much had been recycled by the Ferry camp , some of it great , some of it superfluous . And I missed Bitter-Sweet , which I love. And the touring. Ironic , given that yesterday the Ferry camp marked the 42nd anniversary of the release of the last Roxy Music album.
