I discovered Robin's album Twice Removed From Yesterday
I when I took a trip to L.A. in 1974. I haven't looked back.

Funny thing, I heard Robin before Roxy & love them both.

Since then, I've see Robin play, Bryan sing, and Roxy rock!

Who could ask for more?

I got into RT's music far too late, but love the string of mid 70s power trio albums (the best of which was Bridge Of Sighs) he made for Chrysalis with the late, great James Dewar on bass & vocals. He did some nice stuff with Jack Bruce too.

These albums have been released in the past year as three budget boxed sets (two of mainly studio stuff & one of all his BBC radio sessions), all of which I would recommend unreservedly.

He's still playing all the oldies live and doing it very well; I saw him at Shepherds Bush Empire last year. Quiet, unassuming guy too, when he signed a CD for me afterwards.

He was due to tour the UK again in Sept, but dates have been rearranged for next March due to a family illness. Catch him somewhere if you can...

saw Robin w/Dewar up close in a bar in the 80s. loved it! can't say more than that.

a much under-mentioned album was Twice Removed From Yesterday, even 'tho Bridge of Sighs was a great album. Look into it.

RT's first two albums were/are a darn good listen. Excellent driving music on a long auto trip...

He got his super-heavy sound by playing LOUD LOUD LOUD through old-school tube amps with what, in the 1970s, were cutting-edge distortion/phaser pedals. If his hearing is still OK after all these years that would be a miracle!
